Wine tour on the Somlo Hill
The Somlo, this lonely giant, arising island-like from the plains of the Marcal River Basin, preserves many natural assets and resources: these special forms of basalt are home to rare plant and animal species.
The once thriving Bronze Age settlement on the top of the hill and also the thousand-year-old - famous foothill grape cultivation resulting many famous wine brands are both considered as cultural values of our country.
This uniquely beautiful, 3-km long, 9-station circular trail named after Paul Kitaibel (1757-1817) botanist, and the related driver booklet show the remarkable sights of the Somlo Protected Area founded in 1993.
